“Work a little, pick a little”
Our Beach Road Community Garden in Sister Bay, WI consists of 26 raised beds with a varied of herbs and vegetables.
We kick off our community gardens Memorial Day weekend with group planting. After that we believe in “work and little, pick a little” and rely on the Community Garden community to keep the plants watered, weeded and happy. We have a sign up for weekly watering, this is the person who is responsible for watering as needed during that week. We also have a chalk board on the tool shed where you can find what needs to get done and what’s ready to harvest.
